Lordlaz breaks the silence with a spine chilling master piece…“Home” a film on child neglect, abandonment
and parental conflict.

Cross
River state is amongst the states in Nigeria with the highest number of abandoned
and neglected children on the streets. The effect of this cannot be over
emphasized as they (abandoned Children) roam the streets and have constantly
grown into nightmares for the society which they believe has been hostile to
them. Child Neglect is
the ongoing failure to meet a child's
basic needs and is the most common form of child abuse. A child
may be put in danger or not protected from physical or emotional harm. They may
not get the love, care and attention they need from their parents. Many children today in
Nigeria and the world at large suffer from parental neglect which mostly stem
from misunderstanding, misconception, quarrel and fight between parents and
relatives.

When
these conflicts remain open, unattended to and unresolved, they take toll on the
children.   Children respond with depression, anxiety, and/or behavior problems. Parents may
shout till they're red in the face, they may stew in stony silence. Whether
their unresolved conflict results in hostility or indifference to one another,
the effect is enormous on the well-being and development of the child.

Child-Parent
bond is the key to child’s mental health and social adjustment. It is important for children to feel
secure about their parents' relationship with each other. It is based on the
above premise and his quest to promote child-rights that he ventured into this
campaign against child neglect abandonment and parental conflict through the film-
“HOME”
.

The premiere is billed for the 27^th may
2017 with the flag off of the Child
rights first initiative campaign supported by, Child care and adult protection initiative CCPI, James Ene Henshaw Foundation, Souvenir Country
club, Dream Boat Theatre Foundation, UNICEF  amongst others.
